I am somewhat new to Barkies but they look like awesome knives and I have never heard anything bad about them. I would like to have a general use camp/survival knife and I was wondering what they have to offer. I want this to be my go-to bushcraft knife. I looked on their website and quite frankly, it sucks. What would you all recommend?

IMHO...

Bushcraft--Aurora

Campknife--Canadian Camp Knife

Hunting,cleaning,skinning--Canadian Special or Lil' Nessy

yes their website sucks, thats why you go to the BRKT collectors page or knifeforums

I am not a fan of upswept blades or skinners but I love the Upland like no other. It can attain sharpness that doesnt exude into words.

check into dlttradingcompany for pics of knives and prices. it will help you decide which knife is ultimately the knife for you. When you do decide on a knife you want you can use the search function here to get more insight on the blade style you chose.
I recently acquired a Canadian Camp knife, although i dont have any plans to use it for camp i think it would be an ideal knife for the days that i want to pack light and need a knife to stick a hog or 2. Alot of people here have chosen this particular blade for the prupose that it was designed for "camp", although there is no real wrong choices as to which blade is the "one", what works for me may not work for you especially in the geographic region that you are in.

I have the Fox River as my bushcraft Barkie, with the Gameskeeper as a heftier feeling camping knife. I also have an '07 LE North Star, but I really like the other two more. Still, the North Star has a 'home'. That, in a nutshell, is the problem with Bark River knives: even if you don't use them, you won't get rid of them... you just want more!

Funny, when this question pops up from time to time, "which barkie for bushcraft", knives like the Canadian Special, Bravo, and Fox River usually get more votes than the North Star, which was designed for bushcraft. No complaints, just my casual observation. I'd like to have a NS, but my Fox River and Canadian Special do the job

That's one of the confounding things about Barkies - there are several knives with overlapping roles and there isn't necessarily a clear or obvious choice. That said, it's rather hard to make a mistake since they're all great knives and of great capability. Choose one and don't look back!

Go to one of the stocking dealers websites and look around until one calls out to you and get it. You can't go wrong.

EDC - Mini-Canadian
Bushcraft - Aurora
All-Around - Bravo-1
The new Seax really speaks to me, too.
And don't forget to get a golok! ha ha

knifeforums gallery is the best place to get a good look at all the offerings.

Best Barkie for general camping chores: the awesome Canadian Camp.

There is a bad side:

They are addictive! You can't own just one - there's always another that's just too attractive to pass up! Kiss your wallet good-bye now! ;)

For general bushcraft/camp use, I would go with one of these three - North Star, Canadian Special, Bravo 1
