Looking for a g-10 handled, liner-lock folder with 440c or better steel. I all ready have the SERE 2000 and the BM AFCK. Any suggestions (under $150)? Thanks. :p

I guess the next step up is the Buck Strider folder. ATS-34, Bos heat treat, G-10 handles, a real beast of a folder.

I know the Al Mar Shrike is Micarta instead of G-10, but its one fine knife. Also, how about an Emerson CQC-7. Just a couple of nice ones to consider. :)

Only one choice: Spyderco Military! Thin (because of the nested liner) and easy to carry, with premium blade steel (S30V) and a very useful blade shape - pointy at the tip for fine work, enough belly for other cutting chores. Should be able to find it for well under $100 on the 'net; I got mine for $88.

I will second the above recommendation for the Military, and add the BM Stryker in M2 steel. Two of my all-time favorite EDC's.

So far I'm thinking of the Spyderco Military PE, S30V or the BM Stryker PE, 154CM. The Mini Commander sounds tempting also. Any other suggestions?

As long as you aren't a "lefty", I can't think of a better choice than the Spyderco Military...It's one heck of a great folder!

Okay, what would one more vote for the Mili hurt? :) It's a great knife. I was really impressed with my 440V version.

I have had the Stryker and the Military.

If you want a useful all-around utility knife that is exceptionally lightweight, choose the Military, no question.

If you want a fairly useful knife that somewhat heavy and is good for thrusting, go with the Strkyer.

I've had an Emerson CQC-7, Specwar, and have a mini Commander, and liked the 7 best for EDC.
You can get Emersons for far less than $100 on ebay and any of the forums.
I have no doubts that the S30V Spydercos are some of the best production knives made, but don't have exerience with them.

edited to add: if you get a Benchmade do yourself a favor and get the M2 steel, its worth it!

Hmmmmm. I'm still undecided bewteen the Stryker and the Military. Well I guess I'll just have to get both. In a few months I'll try to get a Mini Commander. Thanks everyone for your input.

www.bladeart.com has them for $94.95

You get an awesome knife. drilled and tapped for tip up or down, left or right carry. S30V steel. Dual nested liners. This is one kick ass knife and my daily carry.
