First off, man oh man, I am so glad to have this section to read and learn!

Ok the question is what DE for the wife's legs? :p Yes, she is on board with me and all my edged tools and wants something for herself now! Her leg hair is super ultra fine and I mean almost invisible like fuzz. So she has much frustration with cartridges and of course electrics don't work at all. Not thrilled with using chemicals at all so that's out. Price is no concern since it's for her LOL!

The sad part of this is her Grandpa was a barber but passed on long ago so there went the experience and knowledge. I'm trying to find out if any of the family was able to preserve any of his tools but that's another story.

I'm thinking Merkur Futur since it's adjustable and she can start slowly? I just ordered a Vision 2k for myself but looking at more. Yes another sickness to collect :)

I think this is going to be cool watching her lather up and shave hahahaha!!!

Advice?

Gillette Ladies razor, it came in four colors which were light gold, champagne pink, baby blue and dark blue. If you can't find one of them try search out a Blue Tip Super Speed.

thanks unki! on the hunt for blue tips. also found a debutante that may try. hope she does not balk at "antiques" :p

I gave my wife one of those Gillette ladie's razors. Her hair is also pretty fine and she loves hers.

From what I have read, it's best to have a long handled razor for such a task as legs. The lady Gillettes are supposed to be the cat's meow for that.

But if she is like my wife, she will balk at the thought of a "used" razor.

I have been led to believe that the Parkers are similar to the lady Gillettes.

The Parker 29L is a good choice.

I haven't yet bought my wife a DE razor as she keeps using up all my Bigelow shave cream. I shudder at the thought of her swiping my Feather blades too.

Merkur 23C? It has a long handle and is mild, which I would assume is a good thing for the task.

Excellent! Thanks for the recommendations! 29L is a nice looking one :) Will get a "classic" and a newer one, sweeten the pot with an expensive but getting rare bowl made out of real bone. I think the brush is going to be the killer if I let her choose it!

So does she do the whole ritual and with your soaps/cremes or her own? my wife is kinda' jazzed about selecting essential oils and all that but we both new at this so need to learn more!

She's been using her usual gel but I just showed her how to use the soap and brush (I got to help with a few 'hard to reach' places :D).
I'm sure once she's more comfortable with the technique, she'll be interested in her own soaps etc.

cool! 29L on order, the 2 Merkurs, VDH soaps, I think we're set and looking forward to the new luxurious and intimate experience!

Enjoy the rest of Sunday everyone :D

My wife uses a DE as well, one thing that I found was the since her razor gets used less, rust becomes a problem, so I got the cheapest decent blades I could (no good for my face, but fine for lighter hair) and that way she can treat them basically like single use. Still cheaper than cartridges.

thanks for the info. I've read about storing opened blade in olive oil etc. to help preserve. but will suggest a new blade each time. man, talk about luxury - but affordable :)

blue tip purchase confirmed. plus others! already cleaned up and reorganized my side of the "I love me" counter LOL now she gotta' do her side. gave the dog a bath too.
