Okay I'm considering trying a traditional or two I've seen a couple I kind of liked. Longer blades wharncliffe shape kind of think I'd prefer single blade but not certain one was a blue case can't remember the other. Anyway what would you guys recomend for a modern folder guys first traditional?
I do like good steel but am open minded.

In my opinion, a lockback 72 gec or equivalent is a good start for someone coming from moderns. You would retain the locking ability and some familiarity while starting your trip down the rabbit hole.

Although case does make a trapper in 154cm that may be right up your alley.

I like Mercator for when I feel like carrying a modern metal handled locking knife. It's certainly not modern but it has a modern utilitarian appeal, at least in my eyes. But carbon steel :)
