Hi all. I have been a long-time lurker here. I currently carry a Kershaw Leek or a Ka-bar Dozier Phat Bob. I really like the one-handed deployment of the Leek, and the solidness of the Dozier knife.

I am looking for recommendations of folding knives to explore/try out. In particular, I like utilitarian knives that work well. I am also a leatherworker, so a good sharp blade that can cut leather is a consideration.

Anyways, whatever suggestions you have would be much appreciated.

May I ask what size knife? I you want a large knife a Kershaw Blur or Buck Vantage are both good. For lots of tools and versatility, a Case stockman, Swiss army knife, or a Leatherman. The Kershaw Zing is a good mid range folder, a little smaller that the Leek though. The Kershaw Needs Work is a great working knife but not an EDC.

These are just some that come to mind, and I hope this helps.

Spyderco Endura/Delica or Benchmade Griptilian/Mini Grip are all rock solid choices. Buck Vantage or Spyderco Native give you a chance to play with S30V, or you could check out some of the Kershaw composite blade knives and get CPM D2, which is one of my favorite steels.
