For about a month now I have been for a hydration pack for day hikes. So far I have looked at the MEC line and some of the camelbak’s. Could any of you recommend a pack with enough space to carry a light jacket and is under $75can?

You can probably pick up a Camelbak Rim Runner or Trail Blazer (including reservoir) on sale for aroung that price. My wife and I have used them for several years and they have proven to be both comfortable and durable.

I know I've seen each model on various websites of late being discounted.

There are many other good hydration packs but most don't include bladders.

I reccomend the Northface Hammerhead, you can find them for about what you are looking to pay. It has a 100oz nalgene bladder and enough room for day hiking. I've had mine for over a year now and it has survived everything from Colorado to Norway, taking it all in stride. I think it is about the perfect size.
