I have a few knives that have exotic sheaths. Ostrich, elephant, sharkskin. I use neatsfoot oil on my standard leather sheaths, but that does tend to darken them.
What do you use to protect exotic leather? Rennaissance Wax?
I'm using a Blackwood Miami Ninja with an elephantskin sheath for EDC right now, and I want to make sure it lasts. :)

I've used a VERY light coat of neutral shoe polish, and have had pretty good success here in the desert.
I've also heard of folks using glycerine on snakeskin, in particular, to keep the scales from shedding with age. Might work on exotics.

Renaissance Wax is very good for just about anything............including paper! ;)

It takes very little and lasts for a long time. :)

You might try Meltonian neutral shoe creme -- that's what was recommended for my lizardskin boots.

So much stuff changes the color of leather (darkens it) that I only use Renn Wax on mine too.
