I want to know if anybody is really happy with their phone from verizon-any model, I am just looking for feedback esp. if someone hates their phone-it's time for an upgrade, and i'm haveing a hard time getting real feedback. Thanks, Joe

I've had Verizon service for 4-5 years and in my area--greater NY city/NJ/CT it's been superb, with accurate coverage maps and general good customer support, especially compared to ATT, my prior carrier.

I have the Motorola 710, since I wanted Bluetooth capability, and while the phone has some annoying aspects to it, it's not bad at all. With the extended battery I can run two days without a charge--I have a 3000 minute plan for work--and the phone is actually a little feature rich and some things like the camera are tricked out by Verizon to be a little less than optimal. The phone does get a premium price, however.

Prior to that I had the Moto 270c, a nice phone that had some physical flaws, like the headset jack, but they don't handle that phone any more.

Best bet: check out Howardforums.com, sort of the Bladeforums of cell stuff!

I've had Verizon since before they were Verizon. I'm a traveling sales rep and my phone is one of my most important tools. Verizon service rocks. I know guys like me who travel a lot and almost universally if they don't have Verizon, they complain about their service.

I have an Audiovox CDM8900 and it's a great little phone. It has a really good RF section and rarely drops calls unless there's just plain no signal at all. It has great battery life and a very good screen for what I use it for which is not the web. Forget about the camera, even when used with a Surefire it sucks.

Over the years their customer service has gone down hill, but with a wireless phone, it's the network that counts and their's seems better where I go. I live in LA and travel the southwest for business with occasional trips to Atlanta, Indy, Jacksonville.

Once I lost my phone on the way to a trade show. I called and the next morning I had a new phone delivered to my hotel. It wasn't insured, so it was on me, but I needed my phone badly and they came through.

I have a 2000 minute national plan.

my recommendation is to wait. lots of sweeet phones coming out that were seen at ces, consumer electronics show in vegas. if you were getting one now and are looking for the most powerful phone i would consider maybe the lg vx-8000. i'm waiting myself though.

on the other hand if you wait for technology you'll never buy anything. i know several people with basic phones that are very happy. the lg vx-6100 is a nice example.

i have a samsung a610 that I am plased with...plenty of gadgets and gizmos...good reception...i like it.

LG VX3200
It's one of the less expensive flip phones. The smallest one I've seen with usable features(the smaller ones have little buttons that are a pain), and great display. I got it because it was the easiest to use, and didn't have a bunch of extra features I didn't want adding to the cost.
This link is to a review of that phone, but the site has reviews of many phones and carriers.

I have the LG VX3200. Works great and doesn't have a bunch of extra crap I don't need!

I was with Verizon for about 6 ish years until I needed to switch to Nextel (YUCK!) for business purposes. Verizon's outstanding cellular coverage, rates (OK, not outstanding, but moderate), and customer service makes for a company I can stand behind. I'm heading back to Verizon ASAP! I have a few problems (such as if I can port my personal number back after just 12 months), but will agressively look to rejoin them as a customer.

About half a year ago or so I upgraded my phone to the Motorola V710 and I have been loving it so far. Prior to that I had a Motorola V60, which I also loved, it is a great phone. The only reason I switched was becasue I dropped the phone and broke the belt clip. I went into the store and they had no clips for it, and my contract had ended and was able to get a good deal on the V710. Otherwise I would still be using the V60.

I think Motorola makes some great phones. I like the V710 because of the Bluetooth technology, yeah I am a computer geek as well as a knife geek. I never had a handsfree car set because I hate having wires getting all tangled up. The wireless headset for this phone works really well, in fact I also sometimes just use it around the house if I don't feel like carrying my phone. It keeps a charge for a pretty long time for me on the regular battery, depending on how much talking I do. It also coes with many other useful features like a calculator, which is actually pretty easy to use compared to the V60. I also like the vibrating ringer, it is actually quite. I use it when I am in class, and on some phones it actually makes enough noise to be heard across the room. The only downside is the price, but I was able to get like $200 off, plus they gave me a credit line to pay for it with no interest until 2006.

Of course if you want something cheaper the V60 is still available for under $100.
