Recommendations on a neck knife

Trying to find a neck knife. Most designated models are too chunky for my liking. So far my number one choice is the Blind horse knives' brookie. Here's a couple specs if you guys have any other ideas.

-2-3" cutting length
-would like handle I can get my entire hand on. micarta/g10 is preference material
-thinner stock around 3/32
-nice pointy tip
-was thinking stainless but carbon is ok
-open to most grinds
-not too much height like the becker's and izula have. Thinking more like a bird/trout style

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

First thought would be one of the Buck paklite knives, but be aware that they come with skeltonized handles. Custom handles are not too expensive, if they work for you, otherwise.

Timberline Mini-Pitbull. Kind of tactical-looking, but small and sharp.

Tom Krein and Dirk Pinkerton make small knives, give them a look.

I admit I don't pay attention to handle materials, too much, and most of the smaller neck knives don't have seperate handle scales, but if you're looking for something particular, the skeleton handles give you the chance to add a personal touch.

I'd suggest the Potawatomi Slim Necker from JK knives.

OAL - 6.75 inches
Blade - 2.75 inches
01 steel
3/32

John will work with you if you'd like to alter the dimensions - or he'll make a knife to your specifications.

I'm extremely pleased with mine.

He has a forum here on blade. Check it out and send him an email. He is great to work with.

I just bought a forged knife that sounds similar to what you discribed. For around $100 I can't wait to get it. Will post pictures of the knife the maker sent me a bit later if you would like.

I would love to see them! I'm sure everybody else would like to as well

I wear a Woodswalker just about everyday. It is incredibly handy and can cut up an apple or skin a feral hog with equal aplomb.

I tried a Hunter's scalpel from AGR and thought it a bit small. YMMV

Anyone carry the Woodswalker in the AGR pocket sheath. Just wondered how comfortable it was since I can't wear a neck knife w/o it bugging me. And anyone pocket carry one in the kydex neck sheath?

I carry mine in my back pocket in the leather pocket sheath. It's very comfortable.

I have both sheaths. For everyday I wear the neck sheath a lot more. It is real handy to get to when I need a knife in the car. It rides under my shirt and I often forget I have it on as it doesn't weigh much. When I go hunting and when we butcher I generally use the pocket sheath. it carries well in my right back pocket.

Well not entirely to the specifications, but still worth a look. The sold one is on its way to me (has probably arrived but I cant pick it up till next week)

That thing is incredible! Thanks for sharing! Are you going to do anything with the handle, or just leave it as is?

I will probably leave it as is for the most part, but might do a cord wrap in future. If I want scales, wood/G10 I will have one made. Glad you like it!
