i sharpen free hand and my results are fine considering trying a guided system.pretty much settled on the 360 blitz. Looking for suggestions on stone selection. This will be for my traditional pocket knives which are either 1095 or case CV steel. Most of my knives are either case or GEC and a few Boker. A mix of spearpoints clip point and skinner blades. For freehand I use Spyderco ceramic stones med fine and extra fine and I am happy with the edge I put on with those. I use my knives on a daily basis at work for cutting packing tape cardboard jute twine and plastic packing straps along with shrink wrap. At home for some food prep and in the field for dressing game.
Thank you in advance for any recommendations

Thank you wade7575 wade7575 I took your suggestion and went with the full set of Venev stone in 100% diamond. Just a question do you splash with water ? I also clean my ceramic with barkeepers friend is that acceptable with the Venev stones. I have always sharpened with Arkansas stones and ceramic so this will be a new adventure for me
Thanks for your help

Reaper AL Reaper AL I just use a splash of water and I also clean them with Bar Keepers, also to flatten them every so often you just need to use aluminum oxide powder and you want to do it in a progression.

For example with the 1200 grit stone you would want to start with a 150 grit then go to the 400 and then finish with 1000 or 1200 grit aluminum oxide, you want to finish at the same grit or 1 grit lower then the stones rating.

Also it's best to do a few stones at the same time to make the powder stretch farther, also use a peace of glass to flatten them and check them with a straight edge.
