Hey lads not sure if this is right spot lately I have been missing something in my collection it's a folder autos are out and speedsafes .
Part of the reason I parted with my folders in the past was blade play I hate it always have made.me thing folder were completely inferior which isnt true .
So I am looking for recs on the models or brand have that have zero blade play .
As I am about to splurge and buy something new .
The only knife I owned that didnt have it was a mini grip .and I gave it away anyways....
I like some zt not.many spydercos .
Any input or brands I should look at not looking to buy a custom just a solid production model .

Size preference? Lock? How big a steel nerd are you (do you need the latest & greatest; or is good enough good enough)? Any preferences or dislikes regarding blade shape? Flipper vs thumbstud (vs hole)?
Price range?

Are you a fidget flipper? Are you the type that feels compelled to disassemble your knives (hint, a lot of them don't seem to like that, and will have some blade play after reassembly unless you figure out the best ways to "tune" it)

Decent size modern steel.preferred have pots of carbon nothing against it but with all the supersteel I would probably prefer m390 20cv or some kind flavour like that locks that are decent I know the axis is a good one

To be honest I read the rules I dont get what the issue is general knife discussion I thought this would be the appropriate place to ask this question or look for a recommendation?
And I dont expect you to do anything I thought it was in the right place .
I know I am on here a couple of yrs but have never been part of a forum before and do have a little trouble navigating this forum I usually just languish in the busse subforum .
Sorry if I broke rules but can you tell me the right place I should of posted this instead as I enjoy bladeforums and dont want to be a a thorn in mods sides thank you ironkid883 aka jason o brien
 
This seems like it would be the right place for this question to me too.
Anway, if you dont want to deal with blade play, theres an easy fix. Get a fixed blade. You might find that you like carrying them more.
If you need a folder, then I would suggest a Benchmade Adamas, since you like the Axis lock and that knife is probably the most solid Axis lock Benchmade has ever done. The other thing I would say is to check out a Triad lock. Cold Steels triad lock is rock solid! Pretty incredible actually. One of the Cold Steels with a thicker handle would be the best bet for a knife that wont get blade play, like an Ultimate Hunter or a Recon 1.

Yeah me too but the last thread I posted should of been in practical tactical and was moved there I'll have to check and see if it was ken that moved it I had a look before I posted and thought I posted in the appropriate area but I was also still unsure so started my post a little unsure and a small bit vague I was a but under specific.
I also appreciate every post and reply from everyone and the work that spark all the mods and the brotherhood and trust on bladeforums I have made some good deals on here and also sold and traded on here I am still happy with every trade or transaction I have done here probably small fry stuff compared to the serious hogs but I had fun .
I have been looking at some cold steels the scorpion lock one looks interesting as does the triad lock .

Ok I wasnt sure where I originally posted it it should of been in general knife discussion I just wasnt sure where I originally posted it .
My apologies ken I did not mean to breach rules next time if I am unsure I'll just ask before I post thanks for your time and help to clarify this .
