Recon 1 modification question

So, I have a new spear point recon 1 and I was thinking about using a round file to file the lock bar where the jimping is on the G10. Good or bad idea? Thanks

If you’re looking to match the jimping of the g10 on the lockbar, I would say no. Why risk the integrity of the lockbar?

I don't think it would really lead to problems, but I wouldn't do it just the same.

Jimping is overrated, I wouldn’t do it. A lot of work, time and patience spent for no gain and you risk buggering up a perfectly good knife.

Does permanent modification void the warranty? Also I’m assuming you have the new S35VN model, why would you mess around with it. The handle fits like a glove, no need for jimping IMO.
