Does anyone know why Cold Steel quit producing the Recon 1 XL and mini versions? Is either one available for purchase new anywhere (not excessively overpriced)?
 
Only CS can say for sure. But it gotta have something to do with poor sales. No one would discontinue popular models that’s selling great.
 
The XL is pulling in a premium right now if you can find one.

$250 and up on auction sites.

A couple of nib ones hit Amazon a few months ago. Clip point serrated for $150. They sold out quick. You are limited to the secondary market now.
 
I've got the XL clippoint and tanto versions of the Recon 1. I always hoped they would bring out an XL spearpoint version but I guess that will never happen.
