I picked this knife up years ago and it has been a safe queen. Does anyone else have an old carbon steel Recon Government? What years were they produced and in what numbers?

I actually recently discovered a knife I own is a knock off of this knife. Apparently little information is known about this knife--photos are also rare. However, a google search for "SOG Recon Government" brings up some limited information on sogknivescollectors.com According to the site, the knife was produced from 1990-2002(?). Hope this helps.
 
All I know is that I want one of those knives! I grew to appreciate carbon steel blades long after the Recon Gov't and the Midnight Tigershark were discontinued. Imagine if SOG made a full exposed tang 1095 Tigershark!
 
bozo that I can be, I was "this close" to buying one of these way back then .....

I think wildmanh has one of these stashed away.

I found a place that has one. Pretty pricey, but send me a message if you want me to let you know where it is.
 
I traded for this one recently and really like it. Don't like the sheath so much.

I have an s13 Government. It's a good general use field knife/fighting knife, but it's not a chopper. I should pull mine out of the knife case and start using it again. Would love to add a Recon Government to my collection.Almost considered selling it and my Desert Dagger as a set but came to my senses in time. They are here to stay. :D

I used to have one in storage somewhere with a black blade but the handguard is polished, not black like the one posted. Mine was a 1998 IIRC.
