Hello,

Is there a place to get a nickel or stainless tear drop finger guard for a finished out "2nd" Recon Tanto?

The only place seem to find what I'm after is Jantz, but the shipping is more than the part...NS563. I have the black micarta already. I took a class that got me hooked, but it seems parts are expensive unless you have scale or make them yourself.

I'm sure I could make one if I had material and more than a drill, dremel, hammer, and occasional harsh language. Space is limited. .

Knifekits.com sells a variety of guards. If you can't find a tear drop one that suits you perhaps you can grind off one end of an oval guard.

Here's a link- http://www.knifekits.com/vcom/index.php?cPath=60_262

I would also recommend checking USAKnifemaker.com, but it appears that anything they might have that is close to what you've described is out of stock. And it seems to take them forever to re-stock their merchandise (if ever).

Thanks, I've checked those vendors. Most of what I see is fairly flat or out of stock. You would think there would be more options today. So many places don't want to deal with small orders anymore.
