Reconditioning 1967 Cub Scout knife

Hi all,

Now that I'm aware of the appeal of traditional knives, I'd like to be able to use my 50 year old Cub scout knife which is in need of reconditioning. It's a Camillus made in USA model with a blade, awl and a bottle/ can opener with stiff action, corrosion, dull blade, etc.

This is not something that I want to take on myself and I would like to have it done professionally. I can sharpen blades but that's it and I know my limitations. Anyone have experience with the Sharp Shack that I found online? Any other recs for professional services? Thanks

It can be fun to do the work yourself and is not too hard. Trying to take it back to "as new" removes a lot of character that many traditionalists love. How about posting some pictures? You will get a lot of great advice.

Is that a one piece bottle/can opener, or a bottle opener and a can opener? My Cub Scout knife had four blades like a regular scout knife, but all I see nowadays have fewer blades and liner locks.

It would help to know what is wrong with the knife. I think most would agree to leave the patina and just sharpen it. I good cleaning will probably do the trick unless there's something more

OP here.

Gentlemen, I appreciate your responses. I can't post pictures. I totally get it that this thread that I started isn't my personal property but I want to have my knife reconditioned professionally and for personal reasons I will not do it myself.

I'm hoping to get feedback on the sharp shack or other professional knife reconditioning services.

Thank you.

Yes it's a combination can and bottle opener.
