I read somewhere, but I can’t remember where, that you can use a special tool to renew the abrasive on a Trizact belt and you get more life out of it. Does anybody here know how it’s done?

Thank you in advance,
Andy

I use a cheap diamond file on my gator belts to freshen then up. I've also seen cheap diamond stones being used, I believe it's pretty much the same concept.

Edit: if by trizact you mean the ones with the tiny pyramids, I'm not sure whether the diamond file will work, haven't tried these belts.

Search for Powertec diamond wheel dresser. About $10 on the web. Also get a brush to clean the belt after dressing it.

Yup, the cheapy Amazon diamond wheel dressers work great! I got like 3 for like $12 IIRC! I only tried them on the Gator Trizact, not the fine diamond ones. I did try the dresser on a 60 grit belt to try to refresh it and it smoothed it out, but didn't freshen the grain really or unclog it like how it did to the Gators. I got a LOT of blades out of my 300, 160 and 65 Gators by redressing periodically! 2 I broke (operator error) and the one still going has very little gator tread left, but is still cutting well!
