Reconsidering CCW Body carry- Walther PSS or???

3 or 4 years ago I had picked up a Walther PSS in 9mm for a class I was planning with a specific reason of body carry. Pistol did fine in class, was accurate and very controllable. I tried a couple of the competitors- LCP and a XD sub and did not like them. After carrying for a few months, I decided I did not want to body carry anymore and sold the pistol.

Now I am re interested in body carry and wanted to find soem feedback on this models performance since that time and also its competitors in size.

I have full sized pistols- this is just CCW- and needs to be something similar in size as I do not want something so small it is not controllable/useful to me.
9mm is cartridge of my choice.
I may consider model 60 3" in .38.

Just looking for users satisfaction feedback in what you are carrying.

Thanks,
Bill

I typically carry an LCP in my front pocket, but on occasion for a nightly walk, an aluminum framed S&W model 442 with Federal 125 Nyclads... simple Fobus paddle is easy on and off... it's a light hammerless "J" frame without going to exotics (and expensive) titanium or scandium...

I would suggest looking at the Kahr MK9. They are small, accurate and easy to shoot. I had a PM9 but like the MK9 better. To me the extra weight of the stainless steel frame on the MK9 makes it easier to shoot. The PM9 is a good pistol but, to me, was to light and harder to control than the MK9.

why get a 3" 60 in .38 when you can get a 3" model 60 in .357?
i swapped the factory grips on my Pro Series 60 for a set of Pachmayrs, ordered a Bianchi holster
and viola...a perfect carry gun.

I EDC a H&K P7 in a custom OWB rig. I also have a custom IWB holster that works well too.
While certainly not the most economical option for CCW, I am 99% satisfied with my choice.

I will certainly have to look more closely at the Khar offering this time. PSS was a hit for me in the breif time that I owned it but would like more feedback from people who have more time under their belt with it. I will continue to search for all I can find on both the PSS and Khar.

I carried(though not for real concealment) Model 60 and 65's 3" in the past. Usually dehorned hammer and carried in back jeans pocket. I do like them a great deal but they are a little bulky for me for IWB- BUT still an option.
"For my use"- I find .38 +P to be fine for 15 yards and under- the intention for this pistol. I like to be able to shoot this small pistol in comfort so all my focus is on sight picture and squeeze- not on recoil control. I am also set up for .38 reloading for my K38 Masterpeice & have lots of ammo store for .38.
Not intended as a debate on cartridge, just my preferences.

Thanks,
Bill

I think you already have the perfect carry gun with a 3" M65 roundbutt....try a good paddle holster

Les,
I only wish I still had it... being good looking instead of wealthy means some things have to go in order for new things to come ;) LOL

But S&W made tons of them so it is certainly replaceable and a viable option. That revolver made MANY miles with me- quite a few in local rivers.

I sold my CZ75B this weekend so I should soon be able to make a new choice. The G17 is my home/car/bag gun- I have a few 33rnd mags for that one, making it a nice home "denial" gun.

Bill... know what you mean.. I won a 3" M66 roundbutt at a state USPSA match, but foolishly thought I needed a Browning High Power...

After a while a model 65 is going to get heavy. They're good guns but boat anchors man!

My wife and I both shoot my Kahr CM9 (same as PM9 but much lower cost) super good! I liked my S&W 642 for pocket carry, but could not shoot it anywhere near as well as this Kahr. My wife who is a new shooter, can hit pop cans every shot at 15-20 yards.... not bad for a new shooter! The Kahr CM9 is a super CCW gun. I carry it every day!

I'm needing to add one, as she wants it too..... can't complain about that!

Kahr CM9 or PM9... cant go wrong!

Dfib beat me to it - I have carried my HK P7M8 - great gun for ccw except they are getting hard to find and are just a bit on the expensive side.
