Hopefully this is cool, this isn't a WTB or anything, I don't need the code, I have mine, all I need is to borrow the disk.

I have an old (circa '08) Dell A860 laptop that runs Vista home 32bit, this computer isn't used for fun/entertainment, it's strictly for interfacing with vehicle PCM's as part of my job. My 9year old daughter got ahold of it and downloaded about 800 viruses/spy wear in about an hours time. Again this is the laptop I use for my business and I can't simply replace it as the program I use (which I helped write) only works on this specific hardware/OS configuration.

I'm looking for anyone who might happen to have a Dell A860 recovery CD, the laptop is in such bad shape the recovery partition is also screwed up. I would gladly pay shipping both ways to borrow it for a day and again I have my code, I don't need yours. I have other copies of Vista home but I need the specific one for this laptop because the program I use is very very finikey, it was written by me and a few of my car buddies, not computer programmers.

Can anyone help me out?

The recovery partition has been affected, I can run a recovery but the virus' are so imbeded they are already present on the system immidently after the recovery.

I believe the problem is that the virus wasn't caught till it had time to really dig in, this isn't something I use daily or even weekly, after my daughter d/l the virus containing files they had time to spread and wreak their havoc since I only use the one program I didn't find them till after a system update and they had spread themselves too deeply to be removed without a hard reinstall.

I have a Dell OEM VISTA Business 32 Bit disk. Not sure what hardware it came installed on...some small format Optiplex desktop.....was from an install job I did where IT had imaged HDDs to XP Pro. Disk has never been used. Not sure how Vista does with Activations though...OEM XP never had to activate on Dell. You should be able to install once and be good to go because those Optiplex boxes were imaged before they were put into service.

You're welcome to it. I have no want or need for it.
