Well boys I did it.

Saturday when I gave the 16" AK to Sensei at his "going away class" all the Katate and Aikido guys saw it. Tonight I was confronted by 2 blackbelts in the Karate club that I rarely have anything to do with. I thought they wanted help on some kind of technique (those karate guys cant throw or fall very well). I was wrong.

Both of these older guys had been thinking "Where can I get one of those knives?" all weekend. One had previously bought some tourist junk that bent when he used it, and was wondering about the quality of HI products. I told him what I know and I think they will soon acquire HIKV.

Problem.
They dont have internet access. Does anyone know of a "Printer friendly" version of the HI pages? I pity them, they are missing an entire world of knife nut-ism that they cannot imagine.

Why don't you give them the URL and send them to the public library. Most of the folks working in the library will even help them find what they are looking for. Just a thought.

Library access.

You can click the "Show Printable Version" button
at the bottom of a special thread.
Then at the top of that page you can click on
"Show all ## posts from this thread on one page".
Then print.

But for the whole forum?........
It would probably take many reams of paper to print the current content.

Let's see, almost 67,000 posts now.
If you could get 10 posts per page on average that would be
6,700 pages.

Cost of ink/toner and paper wouuld be a couple hundred at best.

Library.

Dave,

You could always invite them over for a football game and then get on the computer and share the "wealth".:D

It's so easy to get on the net nowadays that a "mail order catalog" is pretty much just killing trees. However, if such a thing did exist for HI products, I can guarantee you it'd get passed around a lot at fire bases and tactical assembly areas where internet access is hard to come by for many. We've gotten better at getting troops access so they can e-mail their families, etc., but we still ain't there yet on getting it for everybody.

I was thinking just the FAQ and the HI pages, not the forum. I will figure it out this weekend, school started Monday and I have been pretty busy since.

Hopefully I will be able to have some fun this weekend. Perhaps even beat up my Katana some more. ;)

If they have the link to the FAQ they might eventually end up here. You might want to edit the line with "those karate guys cant throw or fall very well". :D

Someone somewhere has made a program that will compile
all of a website's pages into booklet form.
I think in Word format, for printing, pix included.

Saw something about it long time ago & keep forgetting to
search it down.

Anyone know where to find it?

May I suggest putting together a simple catalog in a PDF (Adobe Acrobat) file?

That way people can email the catalog to each other and it can quickly be printed out.

You could easily make it simply from the HI website's product pages.

...of the Cantina on KF, before we moved over here to Blade Forums. Those 2,900 odd posts are the Holy Grail of the Cantina's lore.

Could the rumors be true that Quackipuss did copy those long unaccessible files, then destroyed all but his one copy and is holding them for an enormous ransom in his batguano cave?

   Somebody please tell us it's not true ( besides Quackipuss ).:( :( :(

I wouldn't put any thing past the Quackiepoo.

When I mentioned the Library just the HI site was what I haad in mind there is a lot of information there and there is an FAQ there also.:)
