Hello, I'm Will.
I was wondering if any of you guys had a lonely mule team laying around in your knife stashes. I'm a engineering student up here at Humboldt state and I wanted to do my semester project (for a materials science class) on cutlery steels and their effectiveness, mostly concerning wear resistance. I was basically going to make a formal report out of all those '1-inch-cutting-manila-rope-test' videos on youtube. For it to be a decent case study I would need to replicate the cutting conditions the best I can for each trial, so I figured mule team would most likely be the best since its only steel that sets them apart. I'm not rolling in dough though so I figured maybe some of you guys would want to help out.
As far as conducted tests, I would have like to do things measuring toughness, and rust resistance as well but it seems a little too invasive for my blades let alone anyone else's. Thanks for your time guys and if you want to help out PM me and we can work out the details.
