Yes, I know, Zeisses and Leicas, right? I am open to being persuaded I suppose, but I am probably not going to want to spend more than $50 max, and $20 or $30 is a lot better. I am not going to use it for anything sophisticated--just something very small and light to throw in the belt pocket of the pack so that I can get a better look at whatever is in the distance.
I am thinking about the waterproof Brunton 8 X 22 mm monocular. It goes for about $20 shipped it looks like.
If there is something better in terms of toughness, better water/fog proofness, and/or higher magnification, let me know. Again, I'd like something very light and compact.
