This is a knife that was a little out of the norm for me. My eye tends to gravitate toward the straight lines. This thing has curves everywhere. The hamon was also an idea I wanted to try from my buddy Nick. The hamon is called hitatsura and my buddy Dan Pfananstiel told me about that cause I just thought it was cool:D. The clamshell is also a first for me, these are trickier than they look. The domed pins got finished off with a new tool I just purchased. It's a Foredom handpiece that hammers and can get into the little nooks where my peening hammer wont go, it's my new favorite tool. Specs are 9 5/8" W-2 blade with an OAL of 14 5/8". The frame is twisted W's and the ns liners are coined. The stag scales, some of the best I've ever used, are secured with ns domed pins. Hope you like it.

Excellent all the way around. The clam shell guard, the domed pins down in the recesses of the stag and everything else is perfect.

And that hamon is really over the top..............that's in a good way. Nothing about the whole knife looks like it was a first for you.

Really nice job.

I love the clam shell guard. Very cool hamon !!!!!
the domed pins down in the stag adds a nice finished detail. Well done my friend!

Amazing. I never saw a knife of yours I didn't like. I would love to see that in damascus....

Now that is one heck of a beauty...! Dan is a cool guy and makes some stunners.

This one is one of my favorites from Mike and will be on permanant display with the quilted handle Damascus Fighter that I have and not rotated. I just love this one as it is a little different from his normal sleek thin fighter type knives that I have.

He has been working on this one now for a while I have been calling him and we have been bouncing ideas of each other as to what to do.

He told me that he had never made a clamshell before and I said go ahead and do it as I knew he could pull it off, the same with the "popcorn hamon".

This one will be going off to Paul Long for for him to do his magic on it.

Very nice Mike! I like the hamon choice. The pattern matches nicely with the highlights in the stag. Out of the norm but there is certainly your "name" on it.

With my proclivity towards the Loveless style the handle really speaks to me. But I must say that this one is on my list of favorite knives of all time!
