Here is one I finished recently for a gift. Forged W1, Bronze guard, walrus ivory handle. Plungless grind, convexed edge.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic and dirty knife.

man, that looks HUGE!
;)

I didn't bite either, Xander, but the proportions and scale look really good.

Ok, ok! I guess too many people have seen this in other places! Here's a shot that puts it in perspective...

This was my entry for the mini knife KITH that I host over in Shop Talk. Its 2.1" LOA, 1.3" Sharpened edge, 0.029" thick at ricasso and distally tapered. 1/10 scale. Primary inspiration comes from DHIII and CAS for blade and guard, respectively.

Thanks Paul, I know you like minis! You want to make a sheath for this one?! :D

Xander, at 1/10 scale I'm not sure the available materials could be used to get down that far. Even using kid skin the grain structure would almost be too large to scale and the smallest thread would look like rope. About the smallest practical sheath would be for something not less than about 3, 3 1/2 inches OAL. If the sheath cannot be true to scale also then the entire effect is shot.

Paul, I completely agree. I was only kidding about you making a sheath for this. I started on one with some 1mm leather and then skivved it down further, but it became to unstable at that thin, tearing and creasing. I even looked at some of the "pleather" fabrics that my mother has for her sewing projects, and the grain is non existant, but it still looks fake. I may make a stand for this one, seems it would make a nice display, rather than a jewelery box.

Although, Stacy Apelt did say he tanned a mouse hide for a mini sheath once...
