How would I sharpen a recurve blade like the Kershaw Scallion using normal hand sharpening IE an Arkansas stone. Can it even be done or should I finally invest in one of those sharpening systems?
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).

The standard method for doing recurves is a rolled up sandpaper/mousepad.
Could you explain this technique to me, I've never used it before.
You glue a piece of diamond film onto a mousepad, and roll it up to fit the shape of the recurve. Then you sharpen as usual. It is very cheap.
