Hey all, my wife gave me a busse sus scrofa (I'm a Busse fan) for our anniversary a few days ago, it has a slight recurve, and I sharpened it on my lansky, but I think my strops are too wide, at about 4 inches wide, they don't seem to get in too well. It's sharp now, but i can't polish the edges. will a narrower strop work, or do I need to do something else?

You can use the very edge of the strop it conforms a lot so you have to use a light touch. Try using a butcher's steel to kind of refine the recurve after you strop. It'll give it some bite, but maintain the edge. I know steels where made to straighten an edge after deforming, but it also works well to give some bite to an edge.
