Recurve Spyders with SPYDEREDGE?

I must admit that up till now I've never had much interest in "recurve" blades. Since I've had a couple of Spyderco's recurve blades I've sort of seen the light and I do see where "recurves" can definitely be nice cutting tools. Spyderco has had 3 really good ones that I like>> one being the older Aventura, The Spyker and the Kris as well as the newer Zulu model.

What I've wondered is why aren't any of these ever been made available in Spyderedge? Just the way the blade is always in a slicing mode no matter how you apply it I would think that a Spyderedged Recurve blades would be really nice and aggressive.

As aggressive as Spyderedges are I can't believe that they never offered on yet in the "recurve" sector of the market.

An SE recurve?

It would be a powerful cutter indeed! I like the idea...

ETA: it's almost worth picking up an ffg Endura 4 and getting some work done on it... hmmmm... ;)

Just think about it for a minute>> a recurve blade with a full Spyderedge would truly be a super aggressive cutter any way you would use it. It would utilize the Spyderedge's capacity for cutting and ripping beyond belief. In a way I'm surprised that Spyderco has not done it already  I've also wondered a lot just how much better the C-111 Captain model would have been to have had the inner arch part of the blade Spyderedged  it would be like a crocidile in your hand :D

With Spyderco being the imperial leader of serrated knives I truly wonder why they haven't used the Spyderedge on some of their more aggressive blades?

The civilian is a serrated recurve, along with the matriarch. There is supposed to be a new version of the matriarch, and a junior version as well.

Basically yes you could catgorize the Matriarch and the Civi both in the recurve section but they truly are more in the Hawkbill camp than anything. What I mean by a recurve blade is a conventional knife with a blade with dips and recesses. Just like the models I previously mentioned i.e. The Adventura, The Spyker, The Kris and the new model Zulu>> those are classic recurves in the true sense of the word.

I would like to see at least one of those models be offered in SE.

A super-sized Cricket might be cool. Had one of the older SE SS unetched ones and it worked quite well. Kind of difficult to sharpen such as small curvy blade though. What about the Dodo?
