Tell us the history of your set. Engraving is not standard issue. Thanks

I bought the set in 1989. They came in this red leathette ,felt lined folding holder.I did not receive any paper work or box with them,300 + (?)sets made .
I have never seen another set like them

I have never actually handled a set in person. Have seen one set for sale on Ebay 4 or 5 years ago before I was fully addicted as it sold higher than I would go. Have seen a case for sale a month or two ago. Now that I am fully addicted I might steal mama's church money to get my hands on a set.

jb4570, i saw pics of a red bone stockman on the net and the blades are not in the same order as the ones on my knife, mine has the sheepfoot blade in the far side from the logo and the two other blades are in the logo side.

Put a small amount of mineral oil on the knife..... wipe off excess.

mineral oil ? explain :D
Mineral oil.... lubricant and ..... laxative
Buy it at your Drug Store.... same thing as Baby Oil , without the fragrance.
It is also higher priced than baby oil maybe purer than baby oil.
Just remember a little goes a long way.If you have some rusted knives soak them in mineral oil overnight, then gently wipe them off ,heavy rust areas use a tooth pick or wooden match and Q tips for the inside of folders.
You can use the baby oil if you want your knife to smell like a new born baby.

Blade question answer.

I went to website but was confused as to directions to the particular knife, they seemed off. Looked around and it appeared you are talking about a 303 size knife and blade arrangement. A guick grab and look in the ole knife pile shows only the 1989 models, of several types, to be arranged the way you describe. Is the date mark for 89 is V. Blade arrangement appears standard way in Models 301 V's. Your knife a Redbone 303 V ?
