Sal,
What is the story on the Red checkered Rescues and Enduras with the White enameled emblem?
How many are being produced?

Thanks,

Bobby

Joe,
I almost missed it myself. I found the rescue on e bay . I can get them through my distributor if you need some. I will probably keep some in stock once I find out how many are going to be in the production run. They are cool looking. Great idea Sal.

The Red checkered handled Endura's and Rescue's are the old models (pre 98). They have an AUS8A blade and a Zytel clip. They were a small run (I don't know how many) and they look really cool.

If anyone wants a Red checkered Endura, I do have an extra one that is NIB that I would sell. Just send me an e-mail if interested.

I've been wondering about these myself. Are they a aftermarket alteration or something that Spyderco tried and didn't work out or what?

I saw some at a gun/knife show two weeks ago. They look like someone took red nail polish with a very fine brush and colored in the unraised part of the handles resulting in thin red lines in a checked pattern. From looking at them, I'd say they were done at the factory. I almost bought one, but since I really prefer the new style I picked up a Goddard lightweight for the same price. They are very nicely done and very distinctive---not everybody's going to have one.

They are cool looking, (red checkered enamel with white enamel logo)I've got two of the Enduras (fully serrated) and two of the Rescues. I'm keeping one of each for my collection. If anyone is interested in the others, send me an e-mail
