I was signing the receipt for my credit card purchase, when the
clerk noticed I had never signed my name on the back of the credit card.
She informed me that she could not complete the transaction unless the card
was signed. When I asked why, she explained that it was necessary to
compare the signature I has just signed on the receipt. So I signed the
credit card in front of her. She carefully compared the signature to the
one I had just signed on the receipt. As luck would have it, they matched.

OMG, I hate it when that happens. All of my credit cards have "ask for ID" in the signature space to make them ask for a license. Some people do the same thing. Have you ever tried to point out the stupidity of signing it right there on the spot.....doesn't go over very well, LOL

It is best to have both your signature AND the words "CHECK ID" on the back.

If you only have check ID, a person only needs to make a fake ID with a signature on it, then sign the card also, and everything matches.

My c/c's have my picture and signature on the front of
them. Makes life much easier!
