What brand of Red Dot Sights do you guy like?
Also include MOA and why?

The first one I picked up was a Tasco and it just seemed cheap and I really didnt put any trust into it, I ended up taking it back and searching for another.

I ended up going with Millet which has a MOA of 3/5/8/10

I did like the Aimpoint but is was a little expensive.....

If you had a choice between the Millet Multi-Dot SP RD00906 or the
Bushnesll TRS-25 730131 what would you choose and why?

I've heard of a few people running the TRS-25 and having decent results. Unless I'm mistaken, Millet was bought out by Bushnell/Tasco which was a big downgrade for Millet. The quality of their DMS-1 1-4x scope dropped almost instantly and warranty service pretty much disappeared.

So, of the 2 I'd go with the TRS, but the only red dot optics I have are EOTech. I like EOTech because of the 1 MOA dot in the donut reticle. 1 MOA for precision at distance and a 65 MOA circle for "metal on meat" accuracy at close distances.

The Micro Aimpoints are the new flavor of the year and in a couple years it will be on to whatever is newer and more expensive than that. The Micros are great for weight and the battery life is amazing, but they just don't do much for me.

I personally like the aimpoints, but understand your issue with expense. For under $200, I would go with something from primary arms.

A good recommendation. I think his name is Marshall that runs that show. He has some aimpoint clones that get pretty good reviews.

I personally favor the eotech. I love the 1 MOA dot and the 65 MOA donut. If you hunt anything like hog or large game up close they work well too. Used them on anything from an ar platform to a marlin 45-70 guide. Backing this up with even a cheap magnifier is awesome except for the short eye relief. I love the 65 MOA donut for us as a range finder. This works great for man sized targets for those who need it for that type of work and also if you know the average size of what you are hunting it makes range estimation pretty quick and easy. 500-600 yards is a fairly safe bet with one if wind isnt much of a factor. Holds accuracy with removal on my AR very well. Battery life is excellent howeven not equal to aimpoint. Also IIRC aimpoints MOA is usually 2 and up which does matter to me. Honestly with optics you get what you pay for. Buying a $1000 rifle and then going cheap with $50 optics never made much sense to me. I have used trijicons but unless i am overseas hunting people they dont seem very useful to me as that is their primary purpose. Also with aimpoint you typically have to get a mount with it which jacks up the price point alot. someplace like GG&G can do eotech packages for a REALLY good price.

Watch the Arfom EE for the Aimpoint ML2 in Larue LT-150s for around $400. I got mine for $385 shipped. It's was (used) brand new when I got it. Or look for the Eotech 512 for around $300. Quality optics are really worth it. I ran iron sights for nearly two years while I saved for my Aimpoint. I really wouldn't trust any budget optic on my gun.

What kinds of guns do you guys put crazy laser sights on?

Huh? We're talking about red dot optics, like red dot scopes. They don't project a dot on anything like a laser.

Oh and I run a laser on a S&W 642 airweight and other guns that have minimal sights. :o

I don't put any lasers on my firearms but I do use a Strealight TRL-1 on my home defense gun.

Red dots, I use a C-more with an 8 moa dot one of my competition revolvers. It's a real nice sight, easy to pick up the dot even in sun light. On my wife's Buckmark I put a Tasco walmart special first, but could not get it to adjust correctly and the dot kept fading out, so I returned it and went to a Millet, can't remember what exact model. She loves it, and really likes being able to adjust the size of the dot, etc. She also wears prescription glasses and the different dots help out. I've also used an ADCO red dot. It's also easy to center the dot when bringing up your firearm for a sight picture before making a shot, and it took me a few years beating the crap out of it before it finally went out.

Handguns or rifles? I don't have much experience with aftermarket sights, optics, lights or lasers. I know about them in general, but have no idea what you guys are intending to use them for and wanted to know. I have looked into optic sights briefly for the handgun I'm picking up by EOM, but don't think I'd absolutely need them until I get a HD handgun.

edit: OK I got it, it is for rifle and it has a red dot within the scope portion. I didn't click the links, like an idiot, and thought you were talking about fiber optic sights for a handgun, glow in the dark sites or some type of laser but this is for rifles.

Is it just me or do almost all red dot sights have alittle disturbance with the dot not being perfectly round at times?

It's not you. The laser is projected onto the lens at an angle causing it to have more of an oval shape. Also depends on the quality lens used.

+1 for Primary Arms. I run an Eotech 512 on my carbine but that's because I got a great deal on it. The Primary is on my S&W MP15-22 at a great price,I think I paid $80 with the high rise mount so I could co-witness.

Especially common on lower priced optics. No matter what way you have your head positioned, with an EOTech it's always a circle and a dot. At least in my experience. (512.A65 Revision F)

I got a chance to check out the aimpoint and eotech and they also did this, but I didn't get a chance to get them outside.

I noticed when I'm outside with the millet it has a perfect Circumference, but the 3 MOA might be hard to see on really bright days....

As I mentioned via Chat the other day, I think the Millets are good for the money. I would have no problem buying another one.

I run an Aimpoint CompM2 on my personal, an Eotech 512 on my duty rifle. I prefer Trijicon ACOG if I could afford them.

What does anyone have to say about this one...It's on Botach for 99 bucks and Sig is a good name!
