She's been working hard at looking for a position since she got her work authorization in late October. She finally found a position as a nurse practitioner that will enable her to practice in the specialty she was educated for, and will also enable her to get the hours she needs to maintain her professional certifications.

She was getting a little bummed out after filling out so many applications and not getting much response. She appears to have landed a good job in the end though.

The US Dept of Homeland Security forced her to quit her work in a US hospital and leave our home, back in June 2004. Now a year and a half later, after mountains of pointless bureaucratic paperwork, she is going back to work. Maybe society is safer because of it. :barf:

We are deeply in debt thanks to our government protectors, but we should be able to get on our feet in short order now that we can both legally work.

Congratulations to Red Flower. You both will do fine and your luck will turn towards the good. That's how I felt when your wife finally was able to come here and I think it will just keep getting better.

Congratulations! That is so great.

My primary care "physician" is a Nurse Practitioner. I have much more faith in her than in most doctors. She listens. Most doctors seem to think that patients are stupid.

It's great that Red Flower is fially finally do her job. Almost every woman in my family was a nurse, except me. They do amazing work.

Congrats : )

Great News!! Congratulations Red Flower!

(Wow, we were just talking about this in another thread..I'm curious Red Flower, did you trust that a job would come before it did? Just wondering.)

I've had nothing but good experiences with nurse practitioners:thumbup: Nurses are what keep medicine working--their compassion and caring and LISTENING are absolutely vital!

Good for you!!:)

What a great Christmas present...congratulations to Red Flower!

Congrats! Too bad about the Homeland Security paperwork. Something tells me that they should be less worried about a petite Chinese woman who fills out all the paperwork than they should be about the guy who tries to sneak in undetected. Oh, well. Glad all is right now. Merry Christmas!

Chris

Been watching your tribulations this last year!
'Bout time you scored!
Congratultions, Red Flower.
You have now become a targeted demographic!
DINK, I believe.

A winning situation..:D

Congratulations, It can be very nice to have a second income. Happy Holidays to both of you.

That's Great Red Flower!!! Merry Christmas All!!!!

Howard,

What's her specialty??

I have a buddy that because of some of the places he's traveled and situations he has been in is on some sort of homeland list. He said every time he comes into the country they pull him out of line, question him, and search everything he has. Also when he buys a gun it clicks off or whatever. He always gets the gun but there's some sort of tracking thing on him.:thumbdn:
He's US born and not an Arab or anything but still is on the list:rolleyes:

I really don't know the answer.

Actually, I gave up on NP job after a couple of interview. I decided to find a RN job so I can support my family first. Then I could spend my spare time in doing some NP volunteer jobs. I even drove 70 miles/one way to a clinic for a NP volunteer job interview. Later, I had a couple of interviews for a RN job, my instinct told me that I wouldn’t work for either of them, because they didn’t provide me uniform for work. (I had a dream on a Thursday night when I first started to search a job. In the dream, I was provided uniform for my work.) Usually I believe my Thursday night dreams, most of them became true later in my real life. The interesting thing is this job I got does provide me Lab coat. :)

Anyway, I am really happy now.

Adult Nurse Practitioner - Good for folks over 13.

When I fly with Red Flower I get these nice notes from TSA in my suitcase saying they ransacked my luggage. I just call her Osama. :)

Chinese prognostication goes far beyond the I Ching. For Red Flower Thursday night dreams come true, and other nights are "opposite dreams" and usually something else happens. She often seems to nail the predictions though, so I won't argue.
