She told me about it last night.

We started the paperwork for this visa (under the "expedited" process for the spouses of US citizens) with the Department of Homeland Security 485 days ago. Due to our determination to follow the
US laws, Red Flower and I have been separated for the last year. Although our attorney also advised us to follow the laws, another immigration attorney related to one of my friends noted (off the record) that he would have advised a client of his to overstay her visa and stay with her husband while the DHS ground through their slow process. I'm not sure if that would be good advice, but I can certainly now sympathize with other married people separated by our US government.

I saw on the TV the other day that a lot of US citizens are getting married for money. Going rate is about $15K. The TV guy estimated that about 1/3 of the visa applications for spouses are fraudulent.

I'll fly over to
China Monday to bring Red Flower back. We'll spend a couple of weeks exploring the old Silk Road in the region south of Inner Mongolia prior to our return together.

Great news. I am still working on getting my brother-in-law permanent resident status. I have to co-sponser my sister in all the affidavits of support. Just sent her my share of the paperwork this week. Have fun in China.

Great news, Howard. Take care of yourself.
I'd have done the 'legal' thing, also. Lot less heartburn.

Bring us back a silkworm.

That is great news, Howard. Congratulations to both of you. Have a wonderful time in China and stay out of trouble!

Congratulations Howard. I know myself how frustating and difficult the 'bringing spouse to USA' process is. Glad it seems to be over for you too.

Just got back from US Consulate in Guangzhou. The officer in the Consulate did ask me several questions, such as how long howard and I dated before we got married, how we met, and how many children I have, etc, also he asked me to show some pictures of us... Finally he approved my visa based on those strong evidences...

I am so excited that I can go back home soon with Howard.

Thank you all for your support and help.

:) That is great to hear. A shame it took so long and that you were apart but glad that has worked out at last! Congratulations to both of you.

Great news! Enjoy your trip, and try to take some silk road pics for us, we'd all love to take a little vicarious trip.

Excellent.

I remember what a hassle getting my sister-in-law over here from Germany was...
