Here they are. The Red with Black stripes is 1 of 200. The Red with Blue and White stripes is 1 of 500. This particular one is a Pilot Run, 1 of 48, stamped on the back.

Armand, I believe a Pilot run is before going into the first batch of production.

Thanks hkingdom, that's a great looking pilot run knife you have and so are the rest of your knives... ITE

There were also 9 of those 105CA's made with a damascus blade. (Which I have hopefully figured out how to attach here)

If I remember right, the etching room started doing the gold etch on those blades and had done 48 of them with 1 of 500. I caught that and told them we were only doing 200. We considered those 48 to be our Pilot run or "practice" knives.
The damascus ones were just me trying to make some extra special variations to be offered at the 10th anniversary celebration back in 1998.
The letter of authenticity for this one reads in part "There were only nine of these knives made; four of them were red and black, the colors matching the Ten Year Anniversary Knife, and the remaining five each had a unique handle pattern".

Thanks Joe, for the pics... That a sweet knife... Now I have to find one... Do you know how many were made like mine with the Blue handle and red handle with no gold etching...

Thanks, Armand

Lot's of nice looking knives on this thread. I notice the blade on this 105 is different from the 105 with the black phenolic handle, a clip rather than upswept blade. Was this the blade style of the 105 pre '60's?

I wish I new.... ... They do look different... I don't have a black handle one with me.... :( ...

hello, i am trying to identify a buck 105 that i have. it is the red hande with the white stripes and also there is no gold etching or 20th year anniverssary, but there is a picture of a bulldog head, that says Drummond below that. Also, I believe that the opposite side of the blade is signed by chuck buck. any information about my knife you might help me with would be so greatly appreciated.. thank you...

the coolest part about this particcuar knife, was how i acquired the thing. At first sight of ever gazing upon this beauty, and i knew that it not only was the coolest buck knife i had ever seen, but it was also maybe the coolest knife ever that i had seen in general, and it was true red, my favorite color. so now i have established y wants, needs, desires for the kniife, and a good friend of mine took advantge of that by never making me a price on the knife, and refuesd to sell, refused to sell, and then one day after it has been so long since i had ever seen the knife for the first time i decide that i am willing to pay $400 for the knife because i will never see another one like it, and i had always knew that it had to be mine. so i gave my friend a hundred bucks, and take the knife home, not nerarly as excited or enthused as i oncce had been about the kniefe, but i met it years ago, and hae ssince put it in the back of my thoughts until now. after the first night, i determined that the knife no longer excited me te way it once had done before, and that i was not wiling to give up four hundred bucks for it at the time, so i have the knife back to my buddy and told him he took too long and that i was not as interested in it now years had passed. so for christmas that year, my awesome friend paul, gave the knife to me as a gift, and i have had it ever since, and been able to love iit as much as i love owning it. perfecto.
