Just saw a couple of them at a store for 45 and 50 dollars. Tried to convince my dad to grab 'em and he told me if I could find out whether red ones are rare/valuable he'd buy them. Anyone know?

I also bought a Red Grip once. Reason it was red because the seller neglected to say that the sclaes were cerakoated red. As far as I know the only true red grips would be taken off Trainer grips than did a blade swap. I think they also offer red in the Custom shop too so that's a possiblity also. Would look inside the scales before buying and look for any black or black on outside coming through from paint coming off. I had blue genuine grip scales. Just have to be careful and really look to see if their cerakoated/painted. Still for $40-50 I'd still buy it.

I just checked. They don't offer red on the customizer. Maybe so it would not be confused as a trainer.

I have only seen two red Grips in my life. One was a trainer and the other was a trainer with a blade swap.

If my memory serves me correctly, i believe the red handled ones were made for REI to sell.

Yep, 556S-1201 and 556SBK-1201, red handles, satin and coated, partially serrated S30V blades.

Then somehow Knifeworks got about a hundred 556BK-1201, which was coated, plain-edge S30V.

556S-1201 came with S30V so def a good deal if you can get them at "45 and 50 dollars". I love mine tho the blade is off center a bit.

Get them for me. I'll party the shipping. :-)

At that price point, as long as the are not trainers, just get 'em.
