its for my wifes X-mas present, so any/all info much appreciated.....

Besides of the possibility of having a red FRN for the ladybug or the jester, I think the rest of the spyderco comes with other colors. Besides the mentioned models, the only red ones from Spyderco are drones.

Gerber showed several folders with several colors, including Red, at Blade show.

Greg,

I asked this same question a number of months ago -- probably around the April-May timeframe, in connection with getting my wife an anniversary present. I'd post a link, but I can't use the search feature anymore :( The thread had a number of suggestions. BTW, I gave my wife a cool little red Ladybug for her keychain, and she loves it.

Spyderco used to make red FRN Enduras. They are kind of rare now. I have one that I have been looking to put it towards a Sebenza lately. Cool knife, I just have no need for it.

Dalton makes a few in red, Protech I know has a really nice one too, both are a bit on the high side price wise though. Here is a pic of the Protech Magic

It's got the same handle as the 940 above, but with a Boron Carbide coated clip point blade. It's a Limited Edition run of 500 so it would make an extra special gift. I've got one and love it, although not as much as my 941D2CF (D2 blade, Carbon Fiber scales!).

thanks again,,

How about this? I was designing knives and came up with this, a chili pepper. Blade is 3" long made of twist damascus. Bolsters are Delbert Ealy Random pattern damascus and scales are smooth red Bone. Fully fileworked backbar, fileworked titanium liners that have been anodized green. Overall length is 6-3/4".
Thanks for looking,
Chuck

How about a nice red Scallion? Model 1620RD Kershaw Ken Onion Scallion Plain Edge With Red Aluminum Handle. Nice._

The Delta Z "Osprey", with red burl maple handle slabs and black bolsters and black blade. It is a SWEET knife. Another one of those designs by DDR. It is quite exotic looking also. It is sort of a lighter duty type blade compared to the 940 series by BM. There is also the limited edition Red/Black Sifu if you could find one. I will keep mine I think:cool: ;) Good luck in your search!:D

I wonder if you could order say a BM 710 with the handles that come on the trainer version (red G-10)

Or if you already had a 710 and you were like me and didnt give a poop about violating your waranty, if you could swap the training blade out and have a Red 710.....that would be pretty sweet I think. Nice to have a bit of color in this black-tact world of knives.

BTW....Nice style on that chili-knife...very classy

I think his wife would look a little funny carrying a Sifu around, don't you? ;)

Klotzli knives? I remember seeing them in a Boker tree brand catalog-with red aluminum scales. They looked nice...

TiNives have a beauty with a red handle. One really fine looking knife. I have never had the chance to try the knife, but it sure looks great.
