Hey guys, I dont post much here so I'm still pretty new. I mostly post on EDC and tool type forums since I thought this was mostly a bigger knife type forum, but I have since seen some SAK mods posted here too, so I thought I'd share my latest.
I had a run of SAK scales done in hard anodized matte red finish, and here is the first I put together. Standard pioneer, plus scissor layer. 0.5 inch long 1/8 pivots and torx screws to replace the rivets. I paid for a local electroplater to do the coating and I have since confirmed the hardness at 55RC, where from what I understand standard anodize is 35RC? He has the option of a few other muted colors since its HA coating and not the full range of brighter colors as standard anodizing has.
Thanks for looking, and great forum you have here, albeit a bit overwhelming for a new guy! My ultimate knife making goal is to be making my own folders one day, but I'm a long way from that right now, so I have been modding SAKs to wet my appetite.
