Red Linen

I picked up a custom Active Duty in a trade that appears to have Red Linen. I've shown it below along with a Meaner that has Green Linen. Has anyone else come across a Busse with Red Linen?

If anyone has any comments I would be interested to hear what they are.

I believe that this is Tigerhide linen with more of a red in it than an orange... Tigerhide canvas & linen micarta varies quite a bite from one batch to another. I might be wrong here, but I believe that's what it is. Either way, that's good lookin'. :D:thumbup:

Thanks for the info Steelnut & Jaxx. If I read it right then, this is Red Linen, or "Red" Tigerhide Linen to be exact. I have some other Tigerhide Canvas Micarta knives, mainly Active Duty's and Nuclear EDC's I think. It looks totally different from the Canvas Tigerhide for sure.

Does anyone know of any other knives made with "Red" Tigerhide Linen handles? Preferably with pictures so I can compare them.

Looks like Tiger Linen. Just like what was used on the recent SAR4LE.
Shades will vary.
 
Have to agree with the folks above that said "linen Tigerhide".

You can tell in the un-oiled pics.

THe ash le and Hog ash both had linen Tigerhide too:thumbup:

No, you read it wrong. It's all just Tigerhide micarta. In this case, the linen version. The particular piece your ADv's handles came from just has a much more vivid reddish hue than the average... Mebbe Garth spotted the piece your handles were taken from and thought to himself, "Hmmmm, nice. I'll put this aside for customs.". Maybe not, LOL...either way, Tigerhide micarta varies quite a bit.
Take the Tigerhide micarta on my #27 NMFBMLE for example... It is on the other end of the scale:

Looks more like black linen, doesn't it? Nope... It's Tigerhide linen micarta alright, just with very subdued "orange".

Either way, the handles on your ADv are cool. :thumbup: Someone mentioned the SAR4LE handles, and yes, some of them have very red hued Tigerhide on them... Like lunde's for example. Your ADv's handles might have come from that same batch.
