one of my latest projects. it has a 7 3/4" stock removal blade made of 1075, it is flat ground with a crowned spine. a brass habaki or collar which is hard soldered and decorated with a rainfall scratch pattern. the japanese character on the stainless tsuba or guard translates to april. striped curly maple and black buffalo horn. the pin is also of horn. a few work in progress photos to start with. thank you for looking and have a great weekend !

Just gorgeous. Japanese blades are an all time favourite of mine for a reason.
 
Japanese knives are what made me follow and start knife making. Thanks for the pictures... I "stickied" this thread for reference.
