  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Red micarta 124 went for a wopper!

Maybe I was a little ignorant on their actual value. My highest bid was about $100 lower than the bid that won. Who knows what his actual high bid amount was.

Joe Houser seems fairly familiar with the gentleman... :D

The same individual has purchased many mint items and bought the red micarta 106 ax that Joe sold recently. His bids generally come in four seconds before the close of the auction.

One auction doesn't prove anything...except that two guys wanted a red Micarta badly; one more so than the other...the next red Micarta may go for $125... ;)

I agree with chickentrax. The exception to this would be that with BladeForums, the BCCI Web Site and Joe's knowledge, the Buck knife enthusiasts are becoming more knowledgeable about Buck products and their history. This, in my opinion, is resulting in more demand for the low volume or unusual variations in Buck products. The good news is this shows that there is greater interest in Buck products. The bad news is that the price of entry into Buck Knife collecting is going up!

Nope. I do know of a guy named Jim that collects the 124 and was wondering if this might be him. I did ask if he had the paperwork....nope.
Any of you 124 red micarta handled owners have the paperwork that came with the knife? I am trying to update the 124/122 data sheet.
I am hoping to find a Use And Care leaflet with printers code to help date when we used red micarta.

I will look at mine tonight and see if there are any date codes.

Brainiac here thought you were refering to the seller. Thats why I said I had asked him if he had any of the paperwork. I should have paid more attention to your post.
The buyer told me he is getting these for his grandchildren so they will have a nice collection when they grow up. I thought it was a neat story! :)

Who can argue with an idea like that? I know I have a couple of grandsons that will be the recipients of all my knife collecting at some time in the future.
