Just got my first Kershaw, a red R.A.M.. What a great knife. I can't put it down. Comfortable, smooth, and SEXY, is what this knife is. I want to make more personal by adding a few things, a G&G Grip Clip and wood scales, but do not know how to get in contact with Grant and Gavin Hawk for the clip. I believe that the person doing the wooden scales was firebert, but not sure also need contact information. Once again if you don't have a R.A.M. get one or two. Thanks

Got mine from Kershawguy check the exchange production knives for sale by dealers he has a thread

You realize that poster has, like, a million threads in that forum. A link would be really helpful.

just pick the newest it has a list of what he has. I didn't see the RAM so i pm him about it.

I have a Kershawguy red RAM too (Thanks Dave!!), and I really like it...but I don't love it as much as a lot of people seem to. It seems like the perfect knife, in the same way that Homer Simpson designed the 'perfect car' in that one episode (separate bubbles for adults and kids, lots of horns)---it has everything I would want, and it IS awesome, but for me it doesn't become more than the sum of its parts, as my favorite blades do. On the plus side, however, it is such a functional and tough tough knife I still end up using it as much as any of them, and really using it, with total confidence and satisfaction.

I wish it had a normal thumb-stud instead of those little nub things, and I wish the piston lock was further towards the pivot, more tactile, and ambidextrous (even though I am right-handed, I still like to be able to close my knife with my left). STILL...wicked blade. :):thumbup:

anybody havr pics of red RAM?:) Gavin goes by the name of Blademaker on here! and he's always very helpful to answer any question about their knives.:D

If you thin out the area around the lock with sandpaper, you will increase the feel of the lock. With practice, you may find that the RAM is actually better left-handed. The lock is easily actuated with either the index or middle finger. I'm a lefty and carry both the RAM and the MUDD. (Admittedly I'm still waiting for the fabled Kershaw RAMIII.)

I can't comment on thickness. I like thick folders. My RAMs (and most others) have thicker scales than the stock versions. They feel better in hand and I don't notice a difference in pocket.

Fair enough, thanks for the info!
