Red river gorge!!!!

I was down there about a month ago and man was that place packed. I do love the place though, I just don't love the crowds that it attracts. The drop-offs there are no joke. It's definitely a little unnerving being a few steps from death when your up top

Nice shots. I have never been there. I hear it is a very snakey place with lots of copperheads. You see any snakes?

I don't recall exactly the numbers, but years ago, my brother and a snake freak (aka PhD in the field) were tramping around there looking for snakes. I believe they found something like 20 copperheads in an afternoon. The snake guy said the area has one of the highest densities of copperheads East of the Mississippi.

we got lucky on day one we probably saw 10 people and day 2 maybe 10 if we got lucky, the rain kept them away I guess!!!

Thanks for sharing the pics!!!! I've lotsa fond memories of that area. It's a beautiful place - used to do alot climbing there when i lived over in Jessamine County.

I miss the place, but not the heat/humidity or masses in the summer. For me, the best months were April/early May and Oct/Nov/Dec. That pretty much kept me away from the migrant college kids looking for a place to get drunk and puke.
