Im trying to find some information on the first pocket knife I ever bought. I got this knife in the summer of 1990 in Colorado. It is still one of my favorite pocket knives but I haven't been able to find much information and only seen a few of them and never another one just like it. Does anyone know the value, if the company is still making knives or if they are still sold in the US?

The tang of the main blade is stamped Red Stag Germany on one side and the other is stamped Goodwin Chattanooga and the main blade is etched with "Taschenkumpel" on one side.

Sorry about that. Its only my first post and haven't even been on here for 24 hours yet.

Still does anyone have information on the maker of the knife?

A quickie BING search indicates that Goodwin Chattanooga is a distributor, in Chattanooga.
I could not find a definition for the etch ... at least not in English. Lots of results, but all in German.
Red Stag is (was?) a German knife brand from what I found in the search. My guess is they are the ones who made it.

That is a very nice Stockman. I can see why it is one of your favorites. :)

FWIW, I think "Taschenkumpel" means "pocket pals" ;)

I know German very well, but I couldn't find anything online. If anyone found something but is strugling with the language, feel free to post the link and we'll look into it.

Like 5K Qs correctly said, Taschenkumpel translates as "pocket pal".

There's a member, Germania, who often can help with German knives, he's an expert. Contact him or have this moved to the Bernard Levine subforum where he frequents.

That seems to be a reasonable course of action. Moving to the Bernard Levine Knife Collecting and Identification Forum.
