Just thought you might enjoy a nice looking spyderco. This Standard model Spyderco underwent some minor surgery for me at the hands of full time custom knifemaker Frank Recupero of New York. The photos don't do this knife true justice. I need to get it into the studio this week for some proper portraits. The file work is phenomenal (he even did the edges of the liner) and the reds stag handles are highly polished and highly eye catching. You can e-mail Frank at ats34@aol.com in case you'd like him to operate on one of your Spydies. Take care.

Sal,
this is the type of knife I envisioned when I suggested making replaceable scales for the more popular Spydies.

I could turn my Enduras into things of true beauty. (just mopping up my drool from the keyboard).

Now that is just too cool!! Very nice indeed.
Can you give us a rough estimate of price?? Just wondering.

Fred, do the clip screws screw into the stag, into inserts, or into the liner?

That is one good-looking knife.

I'll leave pricing up to Frank. Just e-mail him at ats34@aol.com and let him know what you want. I don't think his prices are out of line at all relative to the quality of his work. For the other poster, the pocket clip screws are threaded into the liner. I may have Frank leave the clip off the next one. Since the stag is so much thicker than the stock scales, he needed to grind down a flat area for the clip and removing it would show the unnatural area on the stag. This knife is a user, by the way. I'm carrying it today. Take care.

I owe Frank Recupero an apology. I showed a photo of his work on the Red Stag Spyderco and even developed some interest from other knifeaholics. I listed his e-mail address incorrectly, though. If you'd like to get in touch with Frank, who did the custom work on this knife, his correct e-mail address is ats34@webtv.net. Sorry. Take care.

I emailed Mr. Recupero about the price. It is quite reasonable for such a great looking knife. I don't know if I am suppose to repeat it, so I won't, but drop Mr. Recupero an email to find out. I did ask what it would cost to get the file work done on my Spyderco Delica. He said around $60.00. Not bad at all. Something to think about.
