I found these Eastern Redbud Burls while clearing some trees at work. There were a few more smaller burls I didn't bother with and even now, I'm not sure the 2 small ones I did harvest are worth saving.

I thought it was neat the one small burl had flower buds on it.
I plan on sealing the ends and letting them dry a year or so. Anything else I need to do with them?

I can't tell you there, but what I can tell you is I want to go chop down my redbud now cuz that's some nice looking wood!

I would PM Mark at Burl Source for guidance. You will have to paint the cut and then dry them for several years before cutting up to dry for a year or so more.

Ahead of you in that I've already contacted Mark. This was pretty much as I expected but I wanted to check to make sure. The thing that I find ironic is as much wood as I cut, these are the first burls I've found.

Thanks,
Chris
