Rediscovery of old Buck

I was going through some boxes the other day and I ran across an older model 112 Ranger. I purchased this probably in the late 1970s and it served me well for many years. The pivot pin is loose and the blade tip has been rounded a bit. It's been through hell but does not seem to be in that bad of shape. How would I go about sending it back for a tune-up and maybe an Edge 2000 upgrade? In fact what is an Edge 2000 upgrade? What kind of steel is the blade on this model? This Buck has served me very well and I would really like to have the same one repaired rather than replaced. Lots of memories there if you know what I mean.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Bob,

I would recommed that you send it in to Buck with a note stateing that it has sentimental value. Depending on its age, we may not be able to re-blade it. We can certainly sharpen it up and tighten up the blade for you. The edge 2000 treatment means that we re-edge and refurbish your knife. It will look like new! The edge 2000 edge is easier to resharpen and starts out sharper right out of the box. You can "see" the edge easier which aides in the sharpening process.
If you would like to do this, send $5.00 along with this thread to:

Pulsar, why not take a picture of the knife before and after sending it in to Buck. I'd love to see the difference.
