I had forgotten these exist. The Solo is the Pioneer with one blade and nothing else. It is a traditional knife but it is super thin. It is tha same thickness as an Alox Cadet.

Pioneer X, pioneer, Pioneer Solo, Cadet.

Cadet and Solo...same thinness.

One thing I really appreciate is the lack of the key ring, which can wear a blister on your hand in hard use.

I’ve seen these in silver, red, black, blue, green, and orange. My silver just arrived today. Centering and action are perfect, better in fact than higher dollar traditional. This one was only around $23.

One of the reason why I like Victorinox products so much is about their quality, value and consistency. It's hard to imagine with that much volume, they could still maintain a pretty high level of QC.

I’ve often wondered how they do it.

this is a really nice design, comfortable to use and easy to carry.

They use a lot of machinery to ensure consistent results, and every single knife gets hand checked before boxing.
Besides the versatility and variety, I think its thier biggest strength- a knife from either side of the globe will be identical, as will the same model from years apart.
I'm sure this has been posted somewhere before, but while we've all got spare time
