If these are going to be a regular thing, then they deserve their own thread, in my modest opinion.

John's newsletter and giveaway last week allowed me to land my first Scout. Frankly, I thought I was too late when I responded; a fair bit of time had transpired, if I recall correctly, between the email announcement and me reaching out to John. At that point there had been no takers and as I try not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I called dibs.

No regrets here, this is a fantastic knife with a well crafted sheath that slips nicely in the pocket, you'll barely know it's there. It fits my mitts very well and no discomfort at this time, despite having no handle scales. Lightweight, slim, and sharp - instant winner, John. I'll be putting it through its paces in the coming days and will continue to report but initial impressions are that this will serve as an excellent "pocket" knife and eager to see what others might think of it.

Enough of the yapping, let's see some pics.

I got mine tonight after a long, miserable day. Pics will come but suffice it to say, I love it. I have a similar knife from Scott Hanson that gets a ton of use and one fro JK that is narrower and thicker that also gets a ton of use. This one is similar but different. It edge is scary. God I love 52100 when it's done right. It fits the hand in a way I wouldn't have thought possible for a naked knife.
I'm going to bed. Hopefully in my brief time at home I can get some pics.

It's kind of surprising isn't it? I like hearing the feedback on these. That curve layout locks it in your hand fairly well while still being comfortable to use.

I'll post this in here, it shows the jig I made to keep the curves consistent. I think you can view this without an IG account.

It is a cool knife. Are the edges rounded as well to add comfort or no sharp edges? Thanks for the new thread. There is a neat feel and use to naked knives, and I like that fact you had made a jig to keep the shape consistent to lock in the hand.

That is a serious jig! Is that something you made or is that a standard jig you buy in blacksmithing?
It's just some 1" steel plate that I cut up and ground the radius of the finger grooves into and welded the pieces up. I was struggling getting the curves consistent so I rigged that up and it works great.

Here it is showing the tenon that slides down into the anvil.

A portion of the blade spine towards the tip is left square and then transitions to a rounded and polished circumference. No rough corners that'll bite your hand.

This shows the radiused edge that begins behind the clip.

Winner will be drawn later today for this one.
