I know the Redneck name was limited to one run due to a patent on the name Redneck, or something to that matter. I'm not too concerned with the total production # of the orange handle Rednecks but I am interested to know how many of the limited amount of black delrin handle bullnoses were made with the Redneck pivot? I've been dying to get my hands, on one since it would complete my collection, but I don't know how many are even out there to chase. Any of you good folks in the know of this sort of thing it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Trevor~
 
If anyone knows the answer to your question that will tell you it is probably Mike Latham. Now a days, GEC doesn't like to talk anything "Redneck". I e-mailed Christy and asked her to send me a duplicate Redneck label for my Orange Delrin Redneck tube (mine got torn on the tube) and she would only send a Farm & Field label.

According to GEC's 2012 Production Total list, they made 178 715112 knives with black delrin covers. Further down that list, GEC list 138 SFO 715112 knives with black delrin covers made for Mike Latham.

Now, is the 178 number inclusive of the 138 for Latham or did they make 178 + 138 = 316 total 715112s with black delrin covers? Nowhere in the 2012 Production Totals list did I see the words Redneck or Red Neck.

I've just confused the heck out of myself so call Mike. He can most likely help you out.
 
Thanks for the info Ed! I guess they are trying to distance themselves as much as possible from the Redneck era. I'm glad I have a couple in the collection, one which is pristine and unused in the tube! Now that you mention it, I think I remember Mike might be the one would had the black delrin rednecks made, so maybe he will know! Maybe he'll know where I can find one of the elusive little buggers.

The first poster in it after you was "avoidspam". He said he got a black one. He is still active in the forums. Contact him maybe and go through that thread to see if anyone else got one and contact them.

I'm all done with this for now. I've got a headache from all this thinking.

Sorry Knarf, I'll make sure that doesn't happen in here anymore.

I sent Mike an email and he said that he doesn't know the answer to the production question. Maybe I'll try an email to GEC, though it sounds like they might not want to talk about the Redneck run. Guess we'll see.
