Most of you will probably think I'm nuts but I'm pleased that I managed to reduce my CRK collection to the 3 folders in the pic. I don't like shelf queens but like my users to be special. These 3 are it for me. A very special unique graphic TT Isle of Man large Sebenza, an annual small 2011 (with the older style pins which I still had) and a Mammoth Mnandi. What do you guys and gals think? Sorry for the crappy iPhone pic.

Awesome 3 users.

How do the wood inlays hold up, I've been planning on getting a wood inlay seb soon.

Haven't had the small annual long enough to really know how the wood inlays hold up.I have washed the knife after using it a few times and haven't treated the wood in any way. So far so good and from what I've read it shouldn't be a problem at all.

You know me, the large regular is my favorite. I have seen that design before and really like it, though I don't know its meaning...? I hope to one day get a large annual. This year I actually had the chance, but did not like the wood offered. Not so much the wood actually, but did not like the pins through it.

Nice Collection. Its always hard to dwindle down a collection, especially a CRK one. I would probably kick the bucket if I had to take mine down to 3....lol.

That's all you really need to cover all the bases, anything more than that and you become a Collector.

I love the top one, but have never seen it before. What's the story behind the unique graphic?

Exactly! That's how I see it. Nothing wrong with being a collector of course, it's just not me. I find the beauty in tools (like knives) in there usability: designed to work!!! If they happen to be pretty too, that's great but they should still work! If I was a collector I would probably collect something that isn't a tool, like stamps or something......

Great collection of users.
I do collect and even collect users. ;)
Lately I'm thinking if i get more out of the users, but then.....
red mag

PS: I like the patchwork in the background.

Thanks for all the compliments guys and gal(s)!!! I was expecting more people to state that they thought I was completely and utterly bonkers for reducing my collection............:p

Well I secretly admire your ability to pare down....I know I will some day, but I'm just not at that point yet.

I'm not a collector as I've stated, but I get a lot of enjoyment from other people posting pics of their collections. Yours especially Lisa as you have some AMAZING examples!!!

I totally understand where you're coming from and appreciate it, on my side I collect knives because I understand the mechanics of making a knife, it's Not Easy. It takes many years of hard work and dedication to get to the point where you can sell your knives and start to recoup your investment. It also takes lots of talent to be able to create a knife as art. One day, years ago I decided to put a knife making shop together and see if this was something I would be interested in doing, let me tell you, it is the dirtiest, nosiest and most dangerous environment (for your fingers and lungs) you could work in. I now have total respect and admiration for anyone willing to put all those issues aside in the pursuit of their passion, it's a lot of hard work and I appreciate what the Knifemakers/Bladesmiths are doing and will continue to support them by Collecting.

That's amazing! I would really love to see how the knives are made at CRK. I guess it's when trying to make a knife yourself that you realize just how difficult it can be. I've only ever made some VERY amateuristic knives for fun and a few grips for knives but nothing that would ever sell.

I haven't seen the CRK DVD. Does it show how the knives are made?
